A blood donation camp app that works without internet

The Caresoft BBMS camp app runs on tablets and works fully offline. Staff register donors, screen them in their own language and record collections at the camp. When the tablet reconnects, the server re-checks every donor and holds any doubtful donation for the medical officer.

How does a camp day run?

  1. Before the camp: the tablet downloads the donor list and a block of donation numbers.
  2. At registration: returning donors are found by name or number; new donors are added on the spot.
  3. At screening: questions appear in English plus Hindi or Marathi; eligibility is checked on the tablet.
  4. At the chair: the bag and tubes get the same donation number.
  5. Back online: records sync once, never twice, and every rule is checked again on the server.

What if a donor was deferred after the tablet synced?

The server notices on sync. The donation is recorded but held, so the lab cannot process it until a medical officer accepts or discards it.

Questions people ask

Does the camp app need to be installed from an app store?
No. It installs from the browser like an app and works offline. Your IT team can also package it for Android.
How many tablets can one camp use?
As many as you need. Each tablet gets its own block of donation numbers, so numbers never clash.
